At Laragh Courseware, we use a variety of development platforms to create engaging and interactive e-learning content.
Our development team works closely with clients to develop superior e-learning content that is relevant and up-to-date. While we’re seasoned in full course development, we also offer a range of development services to assist clients with their unique needs.
See some of our (AI-free) service offerings listed in the sections below.
Full Course Development
Our turnkey development process is robust and flexible and can be tailored to your existing development tools and processes or leveraged to create a customized process that best suits your needs.
End-to-end course development typically comprises the following phases: planning, learning design, editing, visual design, and quality assurance.
Development Services
While a full course development process (which includes many of these services) is at the core of our business, Laragh is happy to assist with the more granular aspects of your e-learning needs by offering one or more of the following services:
Course design
Functioning as a type of blueprint, a course plan offers you an overview of all the content contained within an e-learning course, including assessments, appendices, videos, and interactivity. Our course design service is a great way to conceptualize the framework of an e-learning course, get all stakeholders on the same page in terms of expectations, and pinpoint where there may be gaps in information.
Learning design
The importance of well-written, engaging learning content cannot be overestimated. At Laragh, we have years of experience in writing various types of instructional content – whether it's web-based training, ILT, book summaries and reviews, or video scripts and storyboards. Using reference materials supplied by clients or materials we've sourced ourselves and collaborating with subject matter experts, we can design detailed course plans and then script the content in the required format and for the intended audience. To make content interactive, we can include elements such as virtual labs, games, and quizzes to help enhance the learning experience. We can also create supplementary resources, such as glossaries and learner handouts.
Editing
The editing services we offer our clients go far beyond simple spelling and grammar checks. Drawing on established style guides, our editors review all content to ensure that the language and syntax are correct, that the tone of the material is appropriate for the audience and culturally sensitive, and that content is well-designed, serves a purpose, and speaks to audiences in a clear and impactful way. If you wish, we can develop style guides based on your individual preferences to ensure consistency in your content. Our refined editing process is integral to all projects we undertake and helps ensure that the content we produce is of the highest quality.
Visual design
The look and feel of an e-learning course play a vital role in shaping the learning experience and ensuring a smooth flow of information. Visual design – in the form of graphic design, animations, and other interactive multi-media items – is added to stimulate active learning and engagement. Understanding the importance of impactful and consistent design elements within a course, our team of designers pays close attention to every aspect, including the different fonts, colors, graphics and layouts.
Video content
We develop instructional videos for different audiences, such as new products education for managers; training on how to repair or upgrade the individual parts of a device for service technicians; basic "How-To" videos that show customers how to navigate and configure apps; and address other frequently asked questions about products. We also develop instructional videos for compliance-related content as well as both end-user and enterprise-level software applications. At Laragh, we provide clients with a range of video-related services, including video scripting; sourcing subject matter experts, actors, or voice artists; producing AV recordings; editing audio and visuals; and designing on-screen text and graphic animations. We can also edit your raw video files, or rework your existing videos so they align with contemporary design standards.
Accessibility
For optimum learning value, it’s vital to ensure that your e-learning content can be used by all learners, regardless of their ability. At Laragh, we have extensive experience in creating content that is WCAG 2.1 compliant. Our writers produce clear, well-scripted alternative text, audio descriptions, and/or closed captions to help ensure that your e-learning material meets the POUR principles – providing a perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust learning experience that is accessible to all.
Question development
Assessments, in the form of test and practice questions, are a useful way to gauge whether learners have understood and retained the information presented in a course. Practice questions reinforce content throughout a course, while test questions enable you to determine whether students have absorbed the material. Our writers develop assessments for a variety of e-learning courses – including supplementary university programs on data analytics and AI and preparing employees for specific workplace and accreditation exams such as Six Sigma, CompTIA, and PIA.
Technical writing
Our technical writing service is designed to help you explain difficult, complex concepts in a manner that is clear and accessible to all types of audiences. We are experienced in translating the jargon associated with various specialized and technical topics for an array of applications, procedures, and regulations in various industries into simple, straightforward language that is easy to understand. Whether you need technical instruction in the field of consumer electronics, software, healthcare, engineering, or finance among others, we are ready to help.
Document conversion
Do you have reams of documentation with which your staff needs to be familiar? We can quickly and efficiently convert your existing documentation – like onboarding, SOPs, or guideline materials – from static PDF or PowerPoint formats into engaging e-learning courses that can easily be integrated into an LMS or LXP for monitoring, tracking, accessibility and interactivity. For more information, see our e-Learning Convert service.
VILT
Scattered teams across different locations? The logistics of coordinating training can be a nightmare. We draw on Virtual Instructor-led Training (VILT) to create simulated classrooms that bring together learners and teachers across time zone and locales. Our virtual courses can easily be integrated into any LMS or LXP. We’re also adept at facilitating “Train the trainer” events to ensure support agents at all levels have an in-depth understanding of significant NPI products.
Localization
Working across the globe, we understand that some companies may wish to tailor their training material to specific cultures, languages, and audiences. Our localization service – which draws on the skills of language translators, voice artists, and subject matter experts – helps craft e-learning content that is specific to a country, from the language we use to the images we portray and the presenters we engage to share your content. For instance, we can localize your courses from the original English into languages such as Latin American Spanish (LAS), Spanish, Dutch, French, and German. Finally, we have experience using XLIFF course strings – a universal format for localized data – in the development platforms we work in.
Book reviews and summaries
With millions of books published annually, there’s a wealth of information available that your employees can make use of. We can write book reviews or summaries on published titles of your choice that can be added to your organization’s library and accessed by employees, enticing them to access the full text. The subject matter we tackle includes business skills, management, psychology, technology, and social sciences, among others.
White papers
We have decades of experience developing white papers that detail aspects such as specifications and features of new hardware – for instance, notebooks, desktops, all-in-ones, monitors, and accessories – and software for clients. Our white papers typically provide insights into a service or product and focus on the quick uptake of key features for target audiences. We can create white papers from material supplied by the client or source the content ourselves if required.
Platform migration
Technology changes quickly and it won’t be long before your LMS or LXP platform is out of date. We can migrate your legacy content to more modern platforms, and even retrofit your existing content to bring it up to date, modernizing the experience and allowing for better compatibility with newer devices. Courtesy of our high level of staff retention, the Laragh team has knowledge of various legacy platforms and formats, enabling a smooth and fast development process.
Transcreation
As a global service provider, we understand that regulations may vary significantly between countries. We, therefore, offer a transcreation service to our clients, which involves hiring an in-country subject matter expert and presenters to work with our learning designers and linguists. Together, they plan a new course with similar learning objectives to the source. For example, we’re well-versed in transcreating courses for clients in the tech industry, to cater not only to different interfaces but also adapt the content around the kind of business scenarios most suitable to the nationality of the audience. Other examples include recreating health and safety courses based approximately on US equivalents, for compliance with the respective ESH regimes in countries such as Spain and The Netherlands.
